Classic R & B Grooms Entrance Songs

Hi my name is Jack Barros Welcome to the Wedding Ceremony Music Series. Today’s issue is Classic R & B Songs for the Grooms Entrance Music.

This series is for brides, grooms and wedding industry professionals.  The Wedding Ceremony Music Series is all about different genres of music with example songs that can be used for various parts of an American wedding ceremony. Adult Contemporary, Christian, Country, R & B, Reggae, Rock and more are covered in various issues.

The songs come from my book Bridal Songs Your Guide to Wedding Ceremony Music 2nd Edition

Quick note although these songs have been listed in the Grooms Entrance chapter, they may be used elsewhere in an American wedding ceremony.

I chose to publish this list because of an upcoming wedding where we will be using the Grooms Entrance to start the wedding ceremony. It is not often that a Grooms entrance song is played in an American wedding ceremony. After the pre-bridal consultation with this couple, I am excited about this unusual ceremony.

This wedding reception takes place on the seaside of the Lighthouse Inn in West Dennis. A truly fantastic view of the ocean will be the back drop for this sunset ceremony.

The guests will start with dinner inside the Inn, Theresa doesn’t want anyone hungry, and then the bride & groom will change for their seaside wedding ceremony. Theresa & James are an R & B wedding couple and as we discussed the details of the ceremony James mentioned that he wanted one song played during the ceremony.

The classic R & B song Let’s Get Married by Jagged Edge. He wanted Theresa to ‘Meet me at the altar in your white dress’. The grooms entrance was the perfect place for James to play ‘his’ song that will set up the mood for the night for their guests.

‘Let’s burn up the night together, baby’ from Kool & the Gang’s ‘Big Fun’ will have your guests dancing in their chairs as the groom comes into the room.

‘I was blessed the day I found you, I want to build my whole world around you’ will put goosebumps on the arms of your guests as you come into the room to ‘You’re My Everything’ by the Temptations.

Music sets the stage for the mood you want to create. ‘Now that we’ve come to the end of our rainbow, there is something I must say out loud’ ‘you’re once, twice, Three Times A Lady’ by Lionel Ritchie and the Commodores gets everyone into the moment.

‘Mama told me, she said, son please beware, there’s a thing called love’ ‘It’s To Late To Turn Back Now’ ‘I believe, I believe I’m falling in love’ from Cornelius Bros and Sister Rose.

From the very first note of the Four Tops version of ‘I Believe in You & Me’ everyone can feel the love. Whitney Houston covered the song, though I prefer the Four Tops.

There you have a few great classic R & B Grooms Entrance songs. For some this will be a walk down memory lane. I enjoyed listening to the songs as I wrote this artilcle. Almost as enjoyable was going through the R & B Grooms Entrance chapter of ‘Bridal Songs Your Guide to Wedding Ceremony Music’. There were these classics along with a lot of contemporary songs for this often-unused opportunity for the groom to express his feelings.

Real Wedding At The Charles Hotel

Party At The Charles with Wedding DJ Jack Barros

A great time was had by all at the wedding at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge for Jennifer Catelli & Michael J Person. Michael provided Worcester area wedding DJ Jack Barros with a great playlist of songs for the guests to dance to. Jennifer and Michael set the tone of the night with a first dance that shared their passion for dance and each other.

Many of Jennifer & Michael’s guests were ball room dancers and wowed the crowd with moves worthy of Dancing With the Stars! A really incredible tango had most of watching in awe as this couple performed like I’ve never seen in my 30 year career! What a great way to start your married life together! I am thankful to have been a part of such a fun night.

Great big thank you to Sarah German and the staff at The Charles Hotel for helping me to overcome unforeseeable delays and equipment malfunctions. Thanks Sarah for going above and beyond to ensure that our bride and groom were happy!

Jennifer & Michael, may you share forever the love and happiness you shared with us at this real wedding at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge.

Wedding Tip about Receptions from a Boston Professional Wedding DJ

Just a quick tip from DJ Jack Barros a Boston Professional Wedding DJ! About where to set your wedding tables to create the perfect mood at your reception.

A recent past weekend I had the pleasure of playing music for Heather & James Macomber at Chamberlain Pavillion in Berkely, MA. Upon arriving at the venue I checked in with owner Jacqui Chamberlain to review the setup of the room and itinerary.

We walked into the Pavillion and her staff had started setting up the tables like in table setting 1 below. I was impressed that she immediatley instructed her staff to change the room to one similiar to Table setting number 2 below.

There are a few good reasons as to why she changed the layout of the room. A practical reason is that it is more efficient for guests and staff alike. More importantly wedding receptions are family reunions and your guests want to be able to talk. The close proximity of the tables allows for a more intimate setting.

One more good reason is that if you have a large dance floor in relation to the amount of people there is a loss of energy in the room. Most of us like to have other people around us when we dance and if there is to much distance we start to feel uncomfortable.

Tip of the day from DJ Jack Barros a BostonProfessional Wedding DJ, ladies is to have your wedding reception intimate and comfortable for your guests to be able to relax and have a good time by having the right table setup.
