Come on, jump out the door
You can’t hold it down no more
I’ll show you how the birds learned how to fly
Don’t mind leaving your nest
Don’t mind making a mess
This might be the best day of your life

Everlong by the Foo Fighters

We’re leaving together,
But still it’s farewell
And maybe we’ll come back
To earth, who can tell?
I guess there is no one to blame
We’re leaving ground (leaving ground)
Will things ever be the same again?

It’s the final countdown

You can use just the instrumental opening minute and twenty seconds (1:25) that is typically enough for the bride and groom to walk up the aisle together.

Alright, Already
And we’ll all float on alright
Already we’ll all float on alright
Don’t worry even if things end up a bit
Too heavy we’ll all float on alright

Katelyn & Kenae's Wedding Reception

Recent Wedding on Top of the City of Providence

Thank you and Congratulations to Katelyn Carveth and Kenae Brooks on their recent wedding reception at the Hilton Honors Providence Biltmore Hotel.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your wedding reception!

From the setting, the ballroom on the 17th floor of the Hilton Honors Providence Biltmore Hotel

Providence Biltmore Hotel

to the love story brought to life by the welcome to the family, by dads,  Eric Carveth, and Walter Brooks and toasts by Maid of Honor Anne Marie “Sissy” Skiffington & Best Woman, Monica “OJ” Cooley! Keefer Dowell grabbed the microphone to do a parody of all the things the bride & groom should do if they want to stay married! (Such as always go to bed angry with each other).  Additional toasts after the cake cutting from Brendan “Scumbag” Powers and Geoffrey Lake led into traditional parent dances and a special song to Katelyn’s mom Dawn Carveth.

The traditional bouquet and garter toss included a cold one for Kenae! (Who chugged it down to cheers from the guests!) And Pedro putting the garter on Jacob!

I had been looking forward to this wedding receptions dance party. (my favorite part of any wedding! Just saying) And I was not disappointed! The music guidelines that Katelyn & Kenae provided was spot on. The guests I had a chance to talk with at their tables and later had requests that everyone wanted to hear! The dancing never stopped! Don’t tell anyone they were even dancing on the windowsills!

Thank you to Monique Bernard Avila and Norbert Avila (Norbyyyy I didn’t know that was you till after the reception!) for referring this wedding to me.

Thank You Eric Carveth for your generous gratuity. I almost feel guilty for getting paid for doing what I love to do for such a great group of people!

Thank you to the staff at the Hilton Honors Providence Biltmore Hotel! Excellent food and superior presentation! From the beautiful ballroom to the sychronized “popping bottles” the atmosphere was outstanding;

Kudos to Ray Conaty (photographer) and Bryan Way of Bright Birch Films. I never saw you guys! (One of the greatest attributes of a wedding photographer or videographer is their ability to get the ‘shot’ without becoming the shot.) Great Job guys. Following is a little teaser of Katelyn & Kenae’s wedding day by Bryan.

For those of you that went to the wedding, stop by my Facebook page, find any Katelyn &/or Kenae Picture and leave a comment. If you enjoyed yourself, I would truly appreciate you liking my page. If you did not enjoy yourself, please message me and tell me what I could have done better, like remembering my man, Norbyyyy!

Adult Contemporary Wedding Processional Songs

Welcome to Adult Contemporary Wedding Processional Songs this week’s Wedding Ceremony Music Series feature article. A weekly series where we showcase a different genre of music for the various parts of an American Wedding ceremony. Adult Contemporary wedding processional songs consists of songs that do not really fit into one category or the other. I suggest you look at other genres such as alternative genre, pop genre as well as rock, R & B and traditional genres of songs.

The leading artist on this list is Celine Dion. Her songs transcend multiple genres of music. Her powerful vocals and melodies take you on an emotional journey.

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn’t speak
You were my eyes when I couldn’t see
You saw the best there was in me

From ‘Because You Loved Me’ by Celine Dion

tells everyone in your processional how much they mean to you.

Suddenly before my eyes
Hues of indigo arise
With them how my spirit sighs
Paint the sky with stars

From Paint the Sky With Stars by Enya

Somewhere Over the Rainbow the rendition by Joe Satriani is an electric guitar instrumental you may want to consider using for your adult contemporary wedding processional song.

Just remember in the winter

Far beneath the bitter snows

Lies the seed that with the sun’s love

In the spring becomes the rose.

The Rose Bette Midler

We’re heading for something
Somewhere I’ve never been
Sometimes I am frightened
But I’m ready to learn
(‘Bout) Of the power of love

The Power of Love by Celine Dion

Two lights that shine as one

Morning glory and midnight sun

Time we’ve learned to sail above

Time won’t chane the meaning of one love

Ageless and ever evergreen

Evergreen by Barbara Streisand

Remember when choosing songs for your wedding processional, you have options with songs that on the whole may not be appropriate, but may have a lyrical section that is long enough for you to use. Factors to consider are how many are in the wedding processional and how far they will have to walk.

Country Wedding Ceremony Songs for the Prelude

7 Great Country Wedding Ceremony Songs for the Prelude

7 Great Country Wedding Ceremony Songs for the Prelude

DJ Jack 'Jacky B' Barros

DJ Jack ‘Jacky B’ Barros

Hello my name is Jack Barros Welcome to 7 Great Country Wedding Ceremony Songs for the Prelude from the Wedding Ceremony Music Series.

For brides, grooms and wedding industry professionals the Wedding Ceremony Music Series is all about different genres of music with example songs that can be used for various parts of an American wedding ceremony. Adult Contemporary, Christian, Country, R & B, Reggae, Rock and more are covered in various issues.

I also try to provide you with suggestions on what part of the wedding ceremony you can use the various songs.

The songs come from my book Bridal Songs Your Guide to Wedding Ceremony Music 2nd Edition.

Today’s issue is 7 Great Country Wedding Ceremony Prelude songs. Also, it is important to note that although these songs have been listed in the prelude chapter, they may be used elsewhere in an American wedding ceremony.

Country Wedding Ceremony Songs

Put your guests in the mood for a wedding with ‘I Think You’re Beautiful’ by Shane Minor. When he sings ‘I think there is something you should know’, they’ll be wishing it was them.

Country songs are great for expressing your feelings. ‘Lost in This Moment’ by Big & Rich  will have your guests ‘watching my dreams come true, lost in this moment with you’!

If ‘there’s no place ‘I’d rather be’ then a great song is ‘The Way You Love Me’ by Faith Hill

‘Two of a kind, ‘Fit To Be Tied’ by T Carter music is a fun upbeat song is great for a wedding entrance song also. T Carter Music is a great online resource for wedding songs.

Was your engagement frowned upon? then, let Shania Twain tell everyone how you feel with ‘You’re Still the One’

A song of hope. ‘My Wish’ by Rascal Flatts wishes ‘that this life becomes all you want it to’. Hmm sounds like a great parent dance song.

‘Just the thought of you drives me wild’ from ‘You Make Me Smile’ by Uncle Kracker makes everyone think of their significant other.

There you have 7 great country wedding ceremony songs for your prelude or somewhere else in your wedding celebration. My wish is that you will find the songs that tell your love story the way you want it heard.

Till next time, keep on dancing!
